At the NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan panel, hosted by Anime NYC, anime fans got behind-the-scenes looks at shows like Reincarnated as a Sword, How I Attended an All-Guy's Mixer, and From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman. But perhaps the biggest show talked about at the Berserk producers' panel was its newest: an adaptation of the manga A Wild Last Boss Appeared!.
Fans got a chance to see the storyboard art for the series' intro, which depicted a mountain-smashing fight scene. Speaking about the action-packed nature of the series, show producer Ryo Hino said that "I've only seen scenes like this in Dragon Ball."
Action-packed indeed.
Set in the far-flung future, A Wild Last Boss Appeared! is about a villain called The Black-Winged Tyrant, who is reincarnated into the body of an MMO character created centuries ago in a game called Exgate Online. In the guise of the character, Lufas, the villain must investigate the world of the long-over game and defeat the monsters within it. The series is created by writer Firehead and the manga was illustrated by artist YahaKo.
In a message relayed to fans at Anime NYC, creator Firehead said "[...] it is also thanks to all of you who have patiently supported us so that we have been able to come this far. Thank you so much!"
As of this writing, the release date for the A Wild Last Boss Appeared! anime has not been announced. Check out the first key visual drawn by YahaKo and released by NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan below.
