Twilight writer Stephenie Meyer has “other stories outlined” for Edward and Bella after Breaking Dawn
The Twilight Saga didn't end for writer Stephenie Meyer after Breaking Dawn, and she has plans for where Edward and Bella's story goes next

Popverse's top stories
- Critical Role star Sam Riegel didn't know FCG's fate before the moment happened - but he did know it was "a good way to go"
- X-Men actress Famke Janssen doesn’t own an action figure of herself as Jean Grey, because they don’t look like her
- DC's Batman #1 has already outsold 2024's best-selling comic of the year
And everything happening this week for Future Fest!
Five years after Midnight Sun, the first Twilight book from Edward's point of view, hit the shelves, writer Stephenie Meyer has revealed that Forks, Washington continues to live on in her mind.
Speaking to Juju Chang on Good Morning America, Meyer revealed how she has more stories with Edward and Bella planned. "I have other stories outlined," Meyer began, "I'll have somebody disseminate them after my death, my outlines, if I never get around to it. But to me, the stories go on."
Elsewhere in the interview, Meyer said that she's evolved as a writer over the years, which now leaves a question about whether or not any future Twilight stories would be... well, an improvement from the racist implications of a group of Native Americans being werewolves, for instance.
Now, this is just my personal opinion, as someone who unironically loves Catherine Hardwicke's 2008 Twilight film, but I think part of the staying power of this franchise in the collective pop culture consciousness has stemmed as much from Hardwicke's prowess as a director (The green color grading! The absolute banger soundtrack! The commitment to capturing just how awkward relationships are when you're a teenager! That freaking baseball scene!) and, of course, the star power of both Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson as Meyer's stories. Since Stewart and Pattinson have gone on to establish themselves as arthouse cinema darlings who have worked with the likes of Claire Denis, the Safdie Brothers, Bong Joon-ho, David Cronenberg, Kelly Reichardt, Ang Lee, and Rose Glass, their presence in the Twilight saga movies is all the more amusing to look back on now.
So what will come of Stephenie Meyer's franchise? Who's to say: the writer herself wasn't even sure if she would be able to actually write out the next chapters in Bella and Edward's story.
