Star Wars: The Acolyte's unlikely breakout star Yord is starring in his own "coming of age" style YA prose novel in 2025

Yord Horde, this one's for you.

Yord Horde assemble.

Perhaps the most unexpected surprise of Star Wars: The Acolyte wasn't Yoda or Darth Plaguieis in the season finale, but the fans circling around Charlie Barnett's Yord Fandar - aka leader of the 'Yord Horde.' Well, Lucasfilm has listened and they're giving Yord his own project - as a YA prose novel.

YA novelist Tessa Gratton is working on an as-yet-untitled Acolyte prose novel for Disney Lucasfilm Press centering on the ardent Jedi Padawan Yord and his unforgiving protege, Jecki (played by Dafne Keen).

"While their Jedi Masters clean up a political mess left behind by one of their own, Jedi Padawan Jecki and her least favorite fellow Padawan Yord are drawn into a planet-wide coming-of-age ritual as featured guests," reads Lucasfilm's description of the book. "The first ritual goes well, but when the final event is interrupted, Jecki and Yord will have to use all of their abilities and work together to keep each other--and their new friends--safe from danger."

This as-yet-untitled Star Wars: The Acolyte prose novel with Yord is scheduled to debut July 29, 2025.
