2025 is going to be a critical year for the MCU, so here's everything that Marvel Studios is set to release then

You either die a hero or live long enough to see another Fantastic Four reboot. Okay, maybe I was being a bit hyperbolic there, but you can catch my drift. The last couple of years have been turbulent for Marvel Studios, with the massive success of films like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Deadpool and Wolverine mixed in with box office duds like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels. 2025 will be a crucial time for the studio, as it will launch tentpole films like Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps in theaters. And the pressure of the MCU won't just be on its films. Marvel Studios will release several new television shows on Disney+ in 2025.
Here's a full rundown on what we can expect to see from Marvel Studios in 2025, including both their theatrical and streaming releases. Things are so spread out that you might as well measure time in MCU releases. They are as follows:
- January 29 - Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
- February 14 - Captain America: Brave New World
- March 4 - Daredevil: Born Again
- May 2 - Thunderbolts*
- June 24 - Ironheart
- July 25 - The Fantastic Four: First Steps
- August 6 - Eyes of Wakanda
- October 3 - Marvel Zombies
- December - Wonder Man
Now that's what I call a busy schedule. So what's the story with these projects? Read on to learn more about them, and decide which are worth your time.
Upcoming Marvel TV series: Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (January 29, 2025)
There have been a handful of Spider-Man animated shows over the years, but Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will follow Peter Parker in his nascent years as the webcrawler in an alternate reality. If you've had a gripe with how the MCU has never depicted the classic origin story for Peter Parker, then your days of holding a grudge will soon come to an end. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will reportedly feature Peter's origin. But there's just one rub: instead of being taken under the wing of Tony Stark, this Peter is mentored by good ol' Norman Osborn. Osborn is not voiced by Willem Dafoe, but Colman Domingo, which is a great switch in my opinion. Charlie Cox will be back to voice Daredevil and everyone's favorite blind lawyer, Matt Murdock.
Debuts: on Disney+
Upcoming Marvel movie: Captain America: Brave New World (February 14, 2025)
Cut the check, it's about time Anthony Mackie got the chance to headline his own MCU movie! The actor went to Juilliard for goodness' sake. With Sam Wilson now serving as Captain America, the shield-bearing hero will butt heads with President Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, played by Harrison Ford. As if having beef with the President of the United States isn't enough already, Thunderbolt Ross also happens to be Red Hulk. And he looks pretty angry. Mackie and Ford will be joined by Giancarlo Esposito, Tim Blake Nelson, Liv Tyler, Carl Lumbly, and Danny Ramirez.
Debuts: Theatrically
Upcoming Marvel TV series: Daredevil: Born Again (March 4, 2025)
My fellow friends without fear: Daredevil is coming BACK. Originally announced as an 18-episode series, Daredevil: Born Again has since been scaled back to 9 episodes. But hey, I'll take all the Daredevil I can get. Charlie Cox will reprise his role as Daredevil, while Vincent D'Onofrio will face off against him once more as Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin. And other members of the cast from the original Netflix show will return, including Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Ayelet Zurer, Jon Bernthal, and Wilson Bethel. Finally, we may actually get some closure about what happened to Bullseye after the third season of Netflix's Daredevil show.
Debuts: on Disney+
Upcoming Marvel movie: Thunderbolts* (May 2, 2025)
Thunderbolts* has been years in the making. We've been introduced to characters like Bucky Barnes, Ghost, Taskmaster, Red Guardian, Yelena Belova, and USAgent over the years, but this is our first time seeing this new team in action. Even though the team is made up of mostly familiar faces, they've got a new wildcard member: a young man by the name of Bob played by Lewis Pullman. I'm sure things will go smoothly for this time. If you put together a group of people with messy histories and varying levels of lethal training in one room, what could go wrong?
Debuts: Theatrically
Upcoming Marvel TV series: Ironheart (June 24, 2025)
It's been a while since we last saw Riri Williams. She was introduced in 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, where she was played by Dominique Thorne. Thorne will reprise the role in the Ironheart series on Disney+. As a refresher, Riri Williams is a brilliant student who goes to MIT and has built her own battle armor. The series will see her face off against The Hood, played by Anthony Ramos.
Debuts: on Disney+
Upcoming Marvel movie: The Fantastic Four - First Steps (July 25, 2025)
A month after Ironheart releases comes the MCU's next big tentpole with The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The film will feature Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch. Despite being one of the core groups within the world of Marvel Comics, the Fantastic Four have had a rough time in live-action projects. Hopefully First Steps will solidify the team and their lore for future stories within the MCU. Since Robert Downey, Jr. has been announced as Victor von Doom (also known as Doctor Doom) for 2026's Avengers: Doomsday, it's been speculated that events in The Fantastic Four: First Steps will tie into Doctor Doom's impending clash with the Avengers.
Debuts: Theatrically
Upcoming Marvel TV series: Eyes of Wakanda (August 6, 2025)
There is so much history about Wakanda that hasn't yet been explored in the MCU, but the animated show, Eyes of Wakanda is here to change that. Not much is currently known about the show beyond a few images we can see in Marvel Studios's "Look Ahead" trailer for their 2025 releases. The show will reportedly feature Okoye actress, Danai Gurira, in at least one episode.
Debuts: on Disney+
Upcoming Marvel TV series: Marvel Zombies (October 3, 2025)
The What If...? episode where an alternate MCU became overrun by zombies will expand further with the Marvel Zombies Disney+ show in 2025. The show gets its title from the comic book series by Walking Dead and Invincible scribe Robert Kirkman and artist Sean Phillips. A shot from the show featuring a zombified Thanos wielding the Infinity Gauntlet spells a pretty grim uphill battle for the remaining heroes of the MCU. And, the series will arrive just in time for spooky season in October.
Debuts: on Disney+
Upcoming Marvel TV series: Wonder Man (December, 2025)
To close out 2025, Marvel Studios will debut a brand new hero with Wonder Man. Played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Wonder Man will also mark the return of the legendary Ben Kingsley to the MCU as he reprises his role of Trevor Slattery. Wonder Man is centered on an actor named Simon Williams trying to make it in Los Angeles. He is mentored by Slattery, who coaches him through auditions. An exact release date has not been announced beyond the show's December 2025 slot at the moment. But be on the lookout for any details in the coming months!
