Felicia Day's The Guild, the show that changed how entertainers play video games, is officially returning - and it wants you to be a part of it

The Guild: The Movie reunites Day with castmates Sandeep Parikh, Vincent Caso, Jeff Lewis, Robin Thorsen, and Amy Okuda for an all-new tale of the Knights of Good - and they're counting on you to help it come alive

I probably don't have to tell you this, but we're in the era of the streamer. So many people look for (and some find!) success in the entertainment industry by essentially letting the world into their private gaming life. But just like so many things in modern nerd culture, Felicia Day was doing it a while ago - specifically, in the case of The Guild. Now, with its 20th anniversary approaching, Day is bringing the megahit webseries is coming back with a brand new movie... And she's inviting you to be a part of it.

For those of you who don't remember The Guild - or were too young to appreciate it the first time around - it was an online comedy series that ran from 2007 through 2013, centering around the friendships of a group of online gamers. Beyond the series itself, the show has a secondary claim to fame: the show's success led to the creation of Day's Geek and Sundry platform, which originally launched Critical Role onto the internet back in 2015. Now, as Critical Role looms large over so much of a nerd landscape online, The Guild is poised to make a long-awaited comeback.

The Guild: The Movie is reuniting the original cast of Sandeep Parikh, Vincent Caso, Felicia Day, Jeff Lewis, Robin Thorsen, and Amy Okuda to tell one more story of the 'Knights of Good," the webseries's fictional ragtag group of MMORPG players. Announced June 18, The Guild: The Movie aims to create a reunion "by fans and for fans" via the route so many popular gaming projects have made their way into the world these days, as a Kickstarter-funded project.

"When I set out to make The Guild," Day said of the upcoming campaign, "It was because I wanted to show that gamers and nerds like us can be the heroes of our own stories [...] Hollywood didn’t really get what we were about, so I built the show myself. We made six seasons because our community proved there was an audience for it. With the twentieth anniversary approaching, we get to do it again: prove the studios wrong and have a blast doing it!"

'Proving the studios wrong,' has been the motto of some of Popverse's favorite surprise hits of 2026 in both the film and TV world, and we're excited to report that fans will get to join in on that mission when The Guild: The Movie launches July 20, 2026. Until then, you can watch the MMORPG comedy in totality over on its YouTube page, and you can look for more updates about the Kickstarter on its official website.
