Star Wars fans will get the chance to explore more of the Clone Wars than ever before in 2026 with the release of Star Wars Zero Company — a single-player tactics-based game that allows players to create teams of unlikely operatives to take on secret missions towards the end of the Clone Wars, testing both strategy and their ability to improvise when trapped in situations where they get a bad feeling about this.
Announced at Star Wars Celebration Japan, Zero Company will place gamers in the role of Hawks - a former Republic officer who puts together a squad of operatives who don’t necessarily get along with each other to take on what’s being described as “an emerging threat that will consume the galaxy if left unchecked.”
Who are the operatives in question? That’s up to the players, as the operatives — and indeed, Hawks’ appearance itself — will be customizable and personalized, letting players create their own Star Wars experience throughout the entire game.
That said, they'll be choosing from a selection of all-new characters, not pre-existing Star Wars icons. Sorry, everyone who wanted to make that 'Ahsoka and all of The Bad Batch, and sure, let's put in Anakin and Yoda as back-up' dream team. (Me. It's me.)
“Our vision for Star Wars Zero Company is grounded in gameplay design pillars that weave in the immersive Star Wars galaxy with engaging turn-based tactics gameplay,” Greg Foertsch, CEO and creative director at Bit Reactor, which created Zero Company for Lucasfilm Games, said in a statement. “It’s our aim to deliver a game with an original Star Wars story from the Clone Wars era that has meaningful outcomes from player choices, and deep turn-based tactical combat with an approachable and cinematic presentation.”
The announcement of the game was accompanied by a pretty deadly looking trailer:
Star Wars Zero Company will be available at some point in 2026 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
