Niantic is offering gamers a better chance to enjoy the go. The Pokémon Go.

Go Fest: Jersey City is the second of several global events that the mobile app developer is sponsoring this summer, each of them dedicated to the players of their biggest hit game, Pokémon Go. To celebrate the game's ninth anniversary, Niantic is offering fans a way to upgrade their convention experience with a 'Premiere Access' package, whose perks include, in the company's own words, "upgraded restrooms."

The news comes from gaming outlet IGN, who published a description of the new Premiere Access package on May 21. Included in the Premiere Access package, says the outlet, are a host of impressive perks such as access to an elite lounge (where these 'upgraded restrooms' are said to be found), fast track access to the convention's ever-busy Pokémon Center Pop-Up Store, and an absolutely staggering amount of in-game content to unlock.

At $100, all the above offerings one gets with the Premiere Access package could arguably be considered a good deal. And yet, fans of the game aren't sure how to feel about the announcement, with some pointing to this as a possible case of Niantic offering an unpopular 'pay to play' option to the game. IGN did update their reporting with Niantic's clarification that the Premiere Access package is only available for the New Jersey iteration of the con (Paris and Osaka Go Fest attendees won't have the same opportunity), but that "Based on the popularity of this offer, we [Niantic] are exploring similar offers at future events."

In other words, Pokémon Go players, you might want to start saving up for future Go Fests, lest you be stuck going to an inferior bathroom.
