The Monster Hunter franchise remains one of the most popular action RPG series in history. For more than 20 years, it has been a cultural phenomenon in Asia. Now, the sixth game in the main series, Monster Hunter Wilds, is due out early in 2025. If you’re wondering when the Monster Hunter Wilds release date is, we’ve got all the information you need right here.

More than five years after the final expansion for the extraordinarily successful Monster Hunter World hit stores, Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch on February 28, 2025. Like its direct predecessor as well as Monster Hunter Rise, Wilds will get a worldwide release, meaning that fans in the US will get to play it at the same time as those in Asia, where Monster Hunter has been popular since its first entry back in 2004.

It took a long time for the Monster Hunter series to find a foothold in the West. This was partially due to the game’s steep learning curve plus the fact that players in Japan and Asia typically got to play Monster Hunter months or even years before fans in the West. With Monster Hunter World, Capcom removed this barrier and it became their best-selling game of all time. Now, Monster Hunter Wilds seeks to replicate that success on the current generation of consoles, pitting players not just against monsters but against the unforgiving environments they call home.

Monster Hunter Wilds will be released on February 28, 2025 on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox consoles. Like World and Rise, it will be available worldwide on the same day.
