He’s the best there is at what he does — and what he does is fight, violently and bloodily. At least, that’s the takeaway from the first trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine, the upcoming PS5 game from the same people that made Marvel’s Spider-Man.
The first trailer for the game was released a year ahead of the game’s planned release, and plays hard into the idea that Wolverine is a living weapon — if one that occasionally likes to dress up as a cowboy. It’s not just Wolverine that’s making it into the game, either; the gameplay trailer also teases roles for Mystique and Omega Red. Check it out for yourself:
The official description of the game from Sony PlayStation runs, “Become a living weapon. As he searches for answers about his past, Wolverine will do whatever it takes – unleashing brutal claw combat, violent rage, and relentless determination – to cut through the mystery of the man he used to be. From Insomniac Games, the developers of the critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise, comes Marvel’s Wolverine, an all-new take on an iconic character based on Marvel Comics.”
Marvel’s Wolverine is set for release for the PlayStation 5 in Fall 2026.
