Marvel Rivals season 2 introduces Emma Frost and Ultron to the Hellfire Gala

Emma Frost is joining the Marvel Rivals roster in April as a Vanguard and Krakoa is going to be the newest map in the game.

Season one of Marvel Rivals gave us a whole new appreciation for Invisible Woman, so the announcement that season two was on its way has kicked the player base into overdrive. The new season focuses on the Hellfire Gala on Krakoa of X-Men fame, with Emma Frost bringing the existing heroes to the party before that pesky Ultron shows up to ruin everything. Marvel Rivals season two is introducing both characters, new maps, and events to the popular team shooter game.

Marvel Rivals season two will start on April 11, 2025 and comes with a brand new hero and location to play in. While it is somewhat strange to hear her say the iconic “To me, my X-Men!” line, Emma Frost certainly looks like she knows how to put on a party. If we didn't know any better, we'd guess that NetEase is trying to replicate the thirst we all shared for Invisible Woman in season one of Marvel Rivals.

If we don’t get skins of characters like Wolverine in their fancy duds, NetEase is missing a trick. Emma Frost herself is also joining the roster in the first half of Marvel Rivals season two in the Vanguard role. She’s got her telepathic abilities and diamond form to lead the charge against the enemy. Along with her, Krakoa will be added as a new map to the game.

In the second half of the season, Ultron will be added to the Marvel Rivals roster, presumably with their own map as well. Interestingly, this will be the last three-month season for Marvel Rivals. Starting in season three, the game will switch to a two-month development cycle, with new heroes added every month.

You don't need to beat the game to prepare for the next one—here are all the major new and upcoming games coming our way.
