We all know that eSports is big money, but Marvel Rivals is offering up some serious bank for its first official tournament. Marvel Rivals Ignite is set to take place in five regions around the world and features a total prize pool of over $3 million, with $1 million going to the winning team in the Grand Finals. And it all kicks off in May 2025.

The announcement came via social media, with Marvel Rivals giving some important details for their own eSports tournament, Ignite. Interestingly, the announcement video didn’t mention any known eSports promoters or leagues – nor did it mention any specific events where rounds would be taking place. Instead, it appears that Marvel Rivals Ignite would be a tournament system taking place in five regions, with the grand finals being sometime later this year.

The regions for Marvel Rivals Ignite are:

  • The Americas
  • EMEA
  • China
  • Asia
  • Oceania

The only other detail given at the moment is that Marvel Rivals Ignite will have a prize pool of $3 million on offer, with $1 million of that being up for grabs at the grand finals. However, the tournament structure, starting date, or entry requirements haven’t been confirmed yet. All we have to go on is that it is coming “this May”.

With Marvel Rivals continuing to be one of the biggest success stories in gaming at the moment, we expect there to be a lot of interest in their newly announced tournament. Players from all around the world will be competing for a healthy prize pool and the chance to prove to the community that they do need Support mains, actually.

You don't need to beat the game to prepare for the next one—here are all the major new and upcoming games coming our way.
