Some of the promo cards for the Magic: The Gathering Lorwyn Eclipsed's pre-release kits included Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cards

Those Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, you never know where and when they'll pop up next. Just ask Shredder if you don't believe us - or, for that matter, ask Magic: The Gathering fans, who got to enjoy their own surprise appearance by the Heroes in a Half Shell as part of a recent pre-release drop for an entirely different MTG set.
Game shops around the country were reminded of the unpredictable nature of the Turtles this weekend during pre-release events for the new Magic: The Gathering set, Lorwyn Eclipsed. According to IcV2, some of the promo cards in the prerelease kits for Lorwyn Eclipsed were actually Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles promo cards. Talk about a plot twist!
Wizards of the Coast issued a statement about the mix-up: "We're aware of reports of Lorwyn Eclipsed prerelease kits containing foil promo cards from an incorrect set. This is not intentional and, if possible, stores should replace these promos with the appropriate ECL promos from other prerelease kits. If stores do not have enough available, players can play with the incorrect cards. Stores are also encouraged to communicate with their WPN representatives for more information."
IcV2 also noted that the discovery of TMNT promo cards in the Lorwyn Eclipsed prerelease kits reportedly caused an influx of Magic players to hit their local game shop on Friday night, not just because it was a prerelease weekend, but because they wanted to get their TMNT promo card early. Honestly, we can't blame them, because what we've seen of the upcoming TMNT set is very, very promising.
What can we say, the people love their subterranean turtles and their rat dad!
