Rat deck builders of the world, rejoice: Magic: The Gathering x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be keeping us fed with its small but mighty collection of rat cards.
Thus far, Magic: The Gathering has given us a look at a few of the cards starring Master Splinter, the Turtles' poised but powerful rat dad. But the TMNT Magic set's rat cards aren't just limited to those featuring Master Splinter, though.
At a press event for MTG x TMNT, I asked the TMNT set team a question that's been on my mind since the set was announced: Are rat deck players going to be eating well with this set?
"We have quite a few rat options in this deck, not as many as turtles, but you're going to be happy with some of the choices we made," said Crystal Frasier, narrative designer. The set's game designer, Eric Engelhard, also pointed out the power of the Rat King card. "[The] Rat King was specifically designed to go into rat decks and be a rat commander," Engelhard said. We haven't gotten a look just yet at the potential rat commander card from this set, but you can take a gander at the Rat King, The Chaosbringer boss card from the set's Turtle Team-Up co-op bundle below.

So, when can you expect to amass your rat and turtle army? Magic: The Gathering x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will drop on March 6, 2026. Happy hunting!
