Magic: The Gathering's Spider-Man set (and all other Marvel cards) won't be available digitally, announce Wizards of the Coast
If you were hoping to use cards from Magic: The Gathering's Marvel Universes Beyond sets, my condolences.

Magic: The Gathering's Universes Beyond sets have introduced a little chaos. Because Wizards of the Coast has had to collaborate with other companies to license IP used in these Universes Beyond sets, every set comes with its own complications. For the Marvel's Spider-Man Universes Beyond set, that complication is that none of the cards will be available in their Universes Beyond form on Magic: The Gathering Arena or Magic: The Gathering Online.
Blake Rasmussen from Wizards of the Coast broke this down in an announcement earlier this week for a new line of digital sets called Through the Omenpaths. Through the Omenpaths will provide a way for Wizards of the Coast to create "mechanically identical" digital versions of physical-only Universes Beyond cards, such as those from the Marvel sets. While the cards from Through the Omenpaths will function exactly the same as the Universes Beyond cards they're supposed to represent, the digital cards will of course have "unique creative treatments, different art, and different names," which makes sense. They can't exactly be creating digital cards called "Spooderman."
In case you're still feeling confused, not every Universes Beyond set is getting a Through the Omenpaths treatment - just the ones that won't be available on digital platforms, which is only the Marvel Spider-Man set at the moment. And to be clear, this isn't Spidey specific. Rasmussen wrote, "Magic: The Gathering® | Marvel's Spider-Man (as well as future Marvel sets) will not be coming to digital Magic platforms. Instead, we will release our first Through the Omenpaths set on September 23."
If you play MTG digitally, you can rest in the knowledge that the Final Fantasy and Avatar: The Last Airbender sets will both be coming to Magic: The Gathering Arena and Magic: The Gathering Online. We all need our Sephiroth.
