Magic: The Gathering’s new breakout star is Fleem, an adorably horrifying goblin villain
Magic: The Gathering players are going wild for this silly-looking goblin fella named Fleem from Through the Omenpaths

Goblins are having a moment right now in Magic: The Gathering. Between the Spider-Man set adding new types of goblins in Spider-Man lore, to the celebration of Ultimate Green Goblin, to now this new fella named Fleem. They might be a few years late, but Wizards of the Coast is going Goblin Mode now.
Now, Fleem, from Through the Omenpaths, should be the new face of goblins for Magic: The Gathering. I mean, just look at him. Not as a thought behind those eyes. Smiling without a worry in the world. His character design is so lovably lumpy that he looks like he was designed by a child (I mean this in the best way possible. I love him).

Fleem's popularity has been brought to the attention of Magic: The Gathering game designer Mark Rosewater via a question asked on his blog. A fan asked, "Mark. The people want more of Fleem. We need more of Fleem. When are we getting to see Fleem again?" Rosewater responded, "Success breeds repetition."
This hasn't been the first time that Rosewater answered a question about Fleem. Another fan asked Rosewater on his blog, "Hi Mark, were you expecting (or are you even aware of) Fleem's huge break-out popularity? The internet seems to love the weird little guy," to which Rosewater admitted, "It was unexpected. Fleem has mad charisma. : )"
Wizards of the Coast, I will be expecting a Fleem plushie in the near future.
