Will Grand Theft Auto VI be released on time?
That's the the question on every Rockstar Games fans' mind this year, having already been through a few rounds of delays regarding the next installment of their favorite open-world RPG franchise. Internal troubles at Rockstar have had some speculating that the current November 2026 release date will get shuffled again, but there's some new paperwork that seems to contradict that theory.
And you don't just have to trust us - trust Rockstar's own parent company.
In case you don't know, that company is Take-Two Interactive, who recently released their earnings projections for Fiscal Third Quarter 2026. I know that that many economical terms in a row might make your brain want to shut down, so we'll quickly point out the one area of interest in regards to the GTA VI release date. That comes from a Strauss Zelnick, Chairman and CEO of Take-Two Interactive, who issued the following statement in the report, our emphasis added:
"Our outstanding third quarter results reflect outperformance from all of our labels, and we are once again raising our Net Bookings outlook for Fiscal 2026. With ongoing momentum across many of our businesses, and the highly anticipated launch of Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19th, we continue to project record levels of Net Bookings in Fiscal 2027, which we believe will establish a new financial baseline for our business, set us on a path to enhanced profitability, and provide further balance sheet strength and flexibility."
Let's be clear about something - we're not saying that this statement is in response to rumors of a further GTA VI. All we're pointing out is that, when it's talked about at the absolute highest levels of its production company, the game's release date is spoken of as a thing set in stone. Whether that stone stays strong or is worn away by the tides of 2-26, we'll just have to see.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19.
