Now you can visit Westeros yourself with the first Game of Thrones: Kingsroad gameplay trailer
Winter is coming (again) in the upcoming video game based on George R.R. Martin's fantasy epic

It’s one thing to watch the action in Westeros, but another one altogether to be able to be in the middle of it. Thankfully, upcoming video game Game of Thrones: Kingsroad lets you step right into the fictional land (and fictional fights therein) of George R.R. Martin’s fan-favorite fantasy epics — and a new trailer lets you see just what that’ll look like.
Tying into the registration period for a closed beta test running January 16 through 22 — available in the US, Canada, and Europe — the new gameplay trailer for the game was released (via IGN):
Players will get to take on the role of a new heir to House Tyre, “a minor house from a modest keep in the remote reaches of the North.” When the heirs of the family are slaughtered at the Red Wedding, the player’s character is summoned home to defend the house… but that task is, of course, easier said than done.
The full game launches later in 2025. Registration for the closed beta closes January 12.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 1 may have wrapped on HBO Max, but with House of the Dragon season 3 coming just around the corner, it's always a great time to read up on all things Game of Thrones. - Popverse's Game of Thrones watch order
- How to read George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones series in order
- The biggest differences between The House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones
- The history of Westeros's greatest houses & families
