Kellen Goff is a voice actor. If you’re a Five Nights at Freddy’s fan, then you might know him as the voice of Freddy Fazbear, Funtime Freddy, or Glamrock Freddy. When Goff isn’t recording lines for the FNAF franchise, he’s doing voice actors do; taking other jobs. However, FNAF creator Scott Cawthon had an issue with the gigs Goff was booking, and created a new rule for his voice actors.
During a FNAF spotlight panel at Animate! Miami 2025, Goff was asked about the internet rumor that he’s the voice of Spring Freddy in the unofficial fan-produced game Day Shift at Freddy’s 2.
“I don’t remember. How long was that,” Goff asked. “I’m sorry. I wish I could give more. It was so long ago. It must have been before Scott told me to not do fan games. He likes the voices to stay canon, and I respect that.”
Marta Svetek, who plays Roxanne Wolf, Vanny, and Gregory in the FNAF franchise, said that this rule goes beyond fan games.
“It’s the same reason why we can’t always voice meme requests and things like that. We need special approval to do all that,” Svetek said.
“It has to be appropriate and all that,” Goff added.
It’s a fair point, as having the official voice actors could muddy things canon wise and cause some brand confusion. The only thing scarier than a killer animatronic is a copyright lawyer.
