How MCU and Overwatch star Anjali Bhimani avoids revealing spoilers — even for her own characters
Ms. Marvel star Anjali Bhimani isn't worried about getting in trouble for spoiling her many, many voice acting projects. I guess that's a benefit of being able to "Men in Black" yourself

There are plenty of names in the MCU who are a little too free with their spoilers - Tom Holland and Alan Cumming all come to mind. But if there's one MCU hero you can rely on to keep a secret, it's Ms. Marvel's Auntie Ruby, AKA Anjali Bhimani. And if you think about it, it's a little bit more impressive that Bhimani can keep all her secrets to herself, considering the literal dozens of voice acting roles that she finds herself in every year. And at PAX Unplugged 2025, we learned how she does it.
The subject came up when we were chatting with Bhimani about the new Overwatch 2 character, Vendetta. Similar to her iconic character Symmetra, Vendetta uses light-construct weaponry, and that had us wondering whether Bhimani knew of any more connections between the two.
"All of us [cast members] have varying degrees of connection to the actual ongoing game," said Bhimani after giving the question some thought. "In terms of our appreciation of the lore, there are some people who distance themselves, not because they don't like it, but because they focus on other parts of their career. [...] There are those of us who dive in and really want to share that with the community just because it's fun, you know, Blizzard doesn't really send stuff to us."
However, Overwatch maker Blizzard does share "lore" with the cast during times that it needs them to know - such as when new material for their respective characters needs recording. And it's here that Bhimani gets to practice her iron-clad spoiler blocker.
"We do get to record new lines when new characters come out," she said. "If they're interactions. But much like all of the other stuff that I've recorded, I purposefully forget it the second I leave the booth. I don't know when [the games are] going to come out; I don't know which lines are going to make it in. I don't want to create any spoilers. I sort of 'Men in Black' myself, so I've just forgotten what I've just done. It's a great time when we're recording, and then I pretend it didn't happen."
Just saying, it wouldn't be the worst idea for someone at Marvel to pass Anjali's teachings on to Mark Ruffalo.
