Inside Date Everything: Ms. Marvel co-star Anjali Bhimani on voicing a bathtub woman in the year’s weirdest romance game

Bhimani, who plays Bathsheba in the game where you get to... well, Date Everything, figures she probably got a similar call to all of the other Critical Role and Dimension 20 stars that are in the dating sim

Of the many games that came out in 2025, few have the delightful weird-factor of Date Everything. A romance simulator, the player of Date Everything finds themselves interacting with manifestations of household objects, and as it says on the tin, getting hot and steamy with them. How such a strange idea comes together is the kind of thing we'd like to talk about all the time, and at PAX Unplugged 2025, we got the chance.

You see, we had the opportunity to speak with Anjali Bhimani, who MCU fans will now know as Auntie Ruby from Disney+'s Ms. Marvel. If you're a gamer, though, you may know Bhimani from her many, many voice roles in the industry, particularly Symmetra from Overwatch 2. In Date Everything, Bhimani plays the character Bathsheba, who's a human brought to life with the essence of, well, a bathtub. Much to our delight, Bhimani was willing to share how her involvement with the project began,

"It's such proof that the community," began Bhimani, "Not just the player community, but the creators making the games for straight front - it's proof how tight-knit we are. I imagine many people [in the cast] had the same experience I did, where Robbie called me and was like, 'Hey, we're making this game. You want to be a part of it?' I'm like, 'It's you. You tell me what you want. I don't even get it. You don't have to ask, of course.'"

The Robbie that Bhimani is referring to is Robbie Daymond, who's not only a voice actor for multiple characters in the game, but also founded the studio that produced it, Sassy Chap Games. Oh, and you might also know him as Kattigan Vale in Campaign 4 of Critical Role.

"Robbie and I had lunch," Bhimani continued, "And he was like, 'I can't be at your session. Let me tell you what you're playing. I'll kind of give you some heads up about who she is before you go in.' And that was great. It was so much fun - that sense of familiarity and familial quality to it, and then the launch party, where we could all finally hang out and see each other, was such a joy. It just goes to prove that, even when the player community might pit games against each other, nobody behind the scenes is doing that. Not that there's and there's nothing like Date Everything, so you couldn't pit against anything."

And we certainly won't try to - what other game allows you to, well, romance any kind of object as it says in the title? Although maybe any kind of object is going a little too far. Yes, we know the game is called Date Everything, but before our interview wrapped, Bhimani had some advice to share about her character.

"I generally tell people, 'Don't worry about romancing her. This is a toxic relationship. This woman only wants compliments.'"

Sounds like solid advice.
