Wonder Woman welcomes back Gail Simone - but the pair aren't teaming up for comics
Could Gail Simone be working on the long-simmering Wonder Woman video game? We think so

Gail Simone is back.
The comics writer is returning in a big way this year by spearheading Marvel Comics' relaunch of its Uncanny X-Men title, but that's just one of several projects on her plate. Another big one, possibly even bigger, is her return to Wonder Woman.
As briefly mentioned in her spotlight panel at WonderCon 2024 attended by Popverse's Jules Chin-Greene, Simone says she has been consulting on an unspecificed Wonder Woman adaptation - and later says she is writing a new Wonder Woman story, although it's not a comic book.
If not comics, then what could the Wonder Woman project Simons is working on be? Our money is on the long-simmering Wonder Woman AAA video game. Although she hasn't said as such, she has been openly talking about working on a never-announced AAA game going as far back as 2020 - and said in the panel that is why she hasn't been working on as many comics since 2020.
Announced in December 2021 during the Game Awards, the Wonder Woman game is being produced by Monolith - the people who made Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Middle-earth: Shadow of War. Described as a third-person, open-world action-adventure video game, Monolith's Wonder Woman would be the character's first solo video game in her 83-year history.
Simone, who holds the title as the longest-tenured female Wonder Woman writer with her early '00s stint on the book, says she enjoys the character's "compassion and empathy" most of all.
In addition to writing the main Wonder Woman series from 2008 to 2010, Simone co-wrote the 2009 animated Wonder Woman film, a Wonder Woman/Conan crossover comic, and has returned on several occasions in various Wonder Woman comic anthologies.
