Hulu greenlights Futurama for season 12 (but there's a catch)

Yes, we said "season 12" of Futurama

Good news for fans currently enjoying the 11th season of Futurama on Hulu — although we’re just midway through the season, there’s already a 12th season of the show in the works… and New York Comic Con 2023 attendees are going to be amongst the first people in the world to get an early look.

Following the revival of the fan-favorite series this summer — marking the first new Futurama since 2013, when the show had been cancelled for a second time, this time by Comedy Central — fans have eagerly enjoying the return of Fry, Bender, Leela, and the rest of the Planet Express crew. The 12th season of the sci-fi comedy hasn’t been officially announced yet, but the official panel description for NYCC 2023’s Futurama screening and panel makes it a reality, as you can see for yourself:

“The beloved sci-fi, animated series Futurama triumphantly returned to Hulu with all new-episodes after a brief ten-year hiatus. Celebrate with a room full of Futurama fans as we screen the season finale episode and get a sneak peek at Season 12, followed by a panel with the creatives behind the show.”

Yeah, you read that right; “get a sneak peek at Season 12.” As if the panel — which is set to take place on the Main Stage of the Javits Center on Thursday, October 12 at 4:15pm Eastern, 1:15pm Pacific — wasn’t going to be in demand already…!

Don’t worry if you can’t make it in person, however: Popverse will be streaming the panel — without any footage being screened, unfortunately — live and direct from New York. It’s the next best thing to being there — although you’ll be robbed of the chance to sneak out for a quick bagel from Finn’s.

This year's New York Comic Con is going to be chock-full of all sorts of cool panels, interviews, and more. Popverse will be there the entire weekend doing what we do best - bringing the greatest bits of the convention home to you. Check out what you can expect from Popverse at New York Comic Con 2023.
