The follow-up to Fate/strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn is appearing on Crunchyroll beginning in early January 2026

The Fate franchise is an ever-growing thing, with new anime specials and spin-offs in the works almost constantly. Despite having multiple anime shows, films, video games, and light novels in the franchise, there is yet another TV anime coming out in the form of Fate/Strange Fake series, debuting on Crunchyroll January 10, 2026.

The team at A-1 Pictures originally confirmed that a Fate/strange Fake anime series was in the works during their panel at Anime Expo 2023, which was where the film Fate/strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn was screened back in July 2023. The series' pilot actually aired all the way back in December 2024 as part of the Fate Project New Year's Eve TV Special, with the full series originally expected at some point in 2025 before a delay pushed it to early 2026. (The series was delayed even further; it was initially announced for a January 3, 2026 release before being moved out a futher week.)

The creative team behind the Whispers of Dawn movie have returned for the series, with A-1 Pictures directors Shun Enokido and Takahito Sakazume, writer Daisuke Ohigashi, and character designer Yukei Yamada all part of the production crew for the series. Hiroyuki Sawano will provide the music for the show, aside from the opening and closing themes; they are, respectively, "Provant", performed by performed by SawanoHiroyuki[nZk] with Jean-Ken Johnny of Man with a Mission and Takuma of 10-Feet and "Senzaiteki na Ai" by 13.3g.

A trailer for the series was released in late 2025:

Fate/Strange Fake debuts on Crunchyroll January 10, 2026. There are plenty of Fate anime and films to watch in the meantime if you want to get caught up while you wait.
