DC Comics' June 2024 plans for Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and everything else in its solicitations, all in one place!
DC celebrates Pride month, Elseworlds returns, and the DCU is headed towards Absolute Power...
Popverse's top stories of the day
- Dune: Prophecy creators promise to bring the "complexity" and "grand scale" of Frank Herbert's books and Denis Villeneuve's movies to TV
- Marvel's TV head says there's "absolutely" a future for Jon Bernthal's Punisher after his Daredevil: Born Again appearance
- Meet the Grim Reaper of The Walking Dead TV show cast, and what goes into killing someone off in the show
It’s the end of an era for DC in June 2024, with the final full month of the 'Dawn of DC' — and also the end of the 'House of Brainiac' crossover in the Superman titles, and maybe the end of Batman’s inner conflict, as well. (Nah, that’ll never happen.) What’s behind all of this? Well, just the oncoming event that is Absolute Power, in which Amanda Waller puts her master plan into action and tries to save the DC Universe from… itself…? As if that weren’t enough, Nightwing’s origin is getting the anniversary treatment, and longtime Superman villain Brainiac is coming clean about his new origin.
That certainly sounds like a lot to keep DC fans busy in June. So much, in fact that maybe it’d be easier if you could have everything in one place to keep track of it easier. And look! Below, we’ve got the complete list of planned comics from DC for June (and beyond, because some books need to be advertised and ordered in advance for size and scale purposes), from Batman, Superman and the rest of the former Justice League through Hellblazer and MAD Magazine. It’s a lot to take in, we understand, and so we’ve split them up into families for ease of use: Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, DC Universe (basically, everything superhero that doesn’t fall under the previous three categories, even if it’s officially an 'out-of-continuity' or Elseworlds project), and Beyond the DC Universe (everything that isn’t a superhero book, or otherwise unrelated to the DC Universe).
These are what's called in the industry as solicitations - as in they're puting these out to solicit its customers (in this case comic book stores and book stores) to pre-order these. Somewhere in the past 15 years, these solicits became as much for readers as it was for retailers, but the name 'solicitations' stuck around.
Do you want to learn what to expect from DC as the summer season gets started? Read on.
