It looks like Jon Bernthal is back as Punisher in Daredevil: Born Again, even if Marvel don't want to admit it
Marvel, just confirm it already, will you?
The cast of Daredevil: Born Again is continually growing and bringing names and faces from the character’s Netflix series with it. We already know that Vincent D’Onofrio is returning as Kingpin along with Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson as Matt Murdock’s partners Karen and Foggy, but there is one name that has been swirling as part of the returning cast for months and that is Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle aka The Punisher. Now those rumors are all but confirmed thanks to leaked set photos from Daredevil: Born Again.
The photos and video from the set of the upcoming Disney+ show show Jon Bernthal’s Punisher alongside Charlie Cox’s Daredevil amid a storm of bullets. The news that Bernthal is back as The Punisher has been suspected since last year when The Hollywood Reporter said that the character was being brought into the MCU, but that was before the show was given a massive overhaul and a new set of writers in late 2023 amid an effort by Marvel to improve the overall quality of their television offerings. These delays resulted in the show’s release date moving from early 2024 all the way into 2025.
Neither Marvel nor Disney have confirmed Bernthal’s involvement in Daredevil: Born Again, despite the mounting evidence that he was reprising his role from the Netflix series. However, unlike the rumors that Krysten Ritter would be returning as Jessica Jones, we have pretty good photographic and video evidence that Jon Bernthal is returning as The Punisher in Daredevil: Born Again.
Fear not, we have the essentials when it comes to Marvel's Daredevil. From the best Daredevil stories of all time, to a guide to watching Daredevil, a comprehensive guide to Marvel Studios' Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+, Marvel's Daredevil actors, ranked from Charlie Cox to Ben Affleck and even Rex Smith, how Frank Miller accidentally killed a Daredevil cartoon (and Marvel killed a book to avoid pissing him off), and even that time we caught Daredevil actor Charlie Cox sneaking into New York Comic Con as Bluey.
