Crunchyroll has surprised anime fans in the UK and France with the announcement that Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, and more are coming to the service starting this week, and we've got all the details.

Dragon Ball remains one of the most beloved anime franchises still around, and it's hard to fully understand the modern animated medium without having absorbed at least the very essential Dragon Ball stories. However, some territories still don't have proper legal access to the entire saga via streaming, so this rollout is great news for those fans in the UK and France.

In the case of the UK, Dragon Ball Super (131 episodes) is already available with subtitles. Now we've learned (via Crunchyroll's own site) that "the first series, Dragon Ball (153 episodes) is scheduled from 9th February in subtitled and dubbed versions. The other famous sequels will be available soon: Dragon Ball Z (291 episodes) from 1st March, Dragon Ball GT (64 episodes) from 15th March, and Dragon Ball Z Kai (167 episodes) from 29th March."

As for France, the current schedule shows that only the original Dragon Ball is locked for a February 9 arrival this week. The other shows are currently TBD, but should get there in the near future too.

Up next for the Dragon Ball franchise on TV is Dragon Ball Daima, which is being made to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the series. It's supposed to be a more straightforward adventure in the vein of the original show, but if we've learned something after watching so many iterations of Dragon Ball over the years, it's that most of Akira Toriyama's work on this IP can surprise us when we least expect it.
