Looking for the perfect prop? Triforce Cosplay has got what you need - even if they don't
They've brought two massive trucks to New York Comic Con 2025 to make sure they satisfy any fandom you might be after.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a cosplayer in possession of a good costume must be in want of a wicked prop to go with it, and for fans heading to New York Comic Con, the opportunities to get their hands on a sword, gun, or shield to go along with their favorite characters are nearly endless, but none of the booths we’ve seen are as equipped to handle the diverse fandoms that are descending on New York this weekend as Triforce Cosplay.
Popverse spoke to Kim Ortiz from Triforce Cosplay shortly after she made the trip from California for NYCC 2025, bringing with her an almost absurd number of prop weapons into the Javits Center.
“We have two trucks and trailers,” she explains. “One of them is 40 feet long. One of them is 30 feet long, so we come prepared. We have a ton of variety.”
Triforce Cosplay has what you’re looking for, even if they don’t

It isn’t just the number of props they’re bringing to the showfloor at NYCC that sets Triforce Cosplay apart. It is their willingness to help customers find what they’re looking for, even if it isn’t something they specifically stock. Ortiz told me that they are bringing props from over 50 fandoms to New York this year, with over 100 listed on their website, but they still can’t cater to absolutely everyone out there.
“Even when we have customers who kind of ask for something obscure or they don’t need it exactly, we do our best to just see what we can find for them,” Ortiz explains. “Like, ‘Okay, this is a silver sword. Will that work?’ Sometimes they’ll be like, ‘Okay, I can change the handle,’ or ‘Oh, this gun will work if I paint it.’ We really do try our best to just give them what works for them… They’re very creative anyway, so they come up with some creative ways if we don’t have the exact source for them.”
The secret to keeping customers from that many fandoms happy is keeping on top of what is coming out. Some of Triforce Cosplay’s most popular pieces come from series like Demon Slayer, which just released another record-breaking movie, Bleach, and One Piece – all series that feature swords very heavily. Call of Duty and Fallout are among their most popular gun lines, while a fully metal Captain America shield remains one of their most eye-catching pieces on their website.
As accurate as physically possible
If the bright colors of Captain America’s mighty shield don’t catch your eye, then two other metal props that Triforce Cosplay stocks certainly will. One is the iconic Buster Sword from Final Fantasy VII, which fans will remember is about as long as Cloud is tall. However, even it pales in comparison to Dragon Slayer, the enormous sword that Guts wields in Berserk.
“The number one question [we get asked] is, ‘Is it real size? Is it the actual size of what they have?’” Ortiz tells us. “Because obviously, in anime, a lot of the weapons are exaggerated or the sizes of the characters are very exaggerated. Sometimes, we’re like ‘It’s as big as we could make it.’”
How big is that? Both the Buster Sword and Dragon Slayer are between 30 and 40 pounds each and close to 60 inches long. While they don’t have metal props at their NYCC 2025 booth, both are available on their website.
The Journey from Zelda to Jujutsu Kaisen
Back in 2010, Jeff Stillman started Triforce Cosplay after he checked out Frank and Son’s Collectible Show in California. At first, he was selling knives and other small items with one cosplay item on offer – the Master Sword from The Legend of Zelda. It was the cosplayers that caught his eye;
“He saw that a lot of people wanted to dress up with [the Master Sword],” Ortiz recalls. “So he was like, ‘Man, we need to make a better material, not just metal.’” The desire to make something that was both convention-safe and kid-friendly drove Stillman to expand his range over the years, offering the literal truckloads that Triforce Cosplay has become known for now.
The Master Sword was the big seller back then (hence the company name), but today there are two fandoms that sell faster than anything else: Jujutsu Kaisen and Solo Leveling. For Solo Leveling, it is Jin-woo’s daggers, which they stock in foam, bamboo, and metal. For Jujutsu Kaisen, it is the Inverted Spear, which is available in both foam and metal.
However, Triforce Cosplay is always looking at what the Next Big Thing will be, and, unsurprisingly, it is KPop Demon Hunters.
“Unfortunately, that’s still in production,” Ortiz admits after saying that Huntrix weapons had become the most requested items from fans this year. “It is coming. It is coming. Yeah. We don’t have them for this show, but we will have them up on our website available to purchase.”
Keeping the personal touch

With all their success and all their range of stock, one thing that Triforce Cosplay tries to keep is their connection with their customers, especially the younger ones.
“I want to say it was last year, maybe in Texas,” Ortiz told me. “We had a family that had come, and they got swords, all the kids got swords. One of our guys took pictures, and he sent them to them. They were really cool. The next day, they came back and all the kids had written him handwritten letters, thanking him for how kind he was and for the pictures. It was really sweet.”
That dedication to building a connection with their customers isn’t just for the convention floor. “Even if we have it out of stock, we’re always telling [people], ‘Hey, go to our website or send us a message, and we’ll try to get it for you.’ We want to get them what they want.”
Whether you’re in the market for a five-foot-plus anime sword or something a little easier to transport home, Triforce Cosplay wants to help make it happen. Not just because it is their business but because they are as passionate about cosplay as their customers.
