Jeph Loeb has been writing comics for the last 35 years, and has been reading comics even longer. But in all of that, the Wonder Woman character has been elusive for him to write... and it's making his first real foray with the character in the upcoming Batman/Wonder Woman: Truth comic Popverse broke news about earlier this year

"For those of you worried that I won't know how to write Wonder Woman, I agree," Loeb jokes during the 'DC Comics: What's Next' panel today at Emerald City Comic Con 2026.

To help in that, he's pulled an ace out from his and his Batman/Wonder Woman: Truth artist Jim Cheung in writer Allan Heinberg, whom Loeb said is acting as a consultant on the comic.

Heinberg was Cheung's writer on his Young Avengers run, but the former Sandman showrunner's connection to Wonder Woman is even deeper; not only did he write the first Gal Gadot Wonder Woman movie and the DC comics series in 2006, but he broke into professional writing with the Wonder Woman-centric off-Broadway play The Amazon's Voice. Heinberg and Loeb also go back years, and at one point shared a writing studio together with Geoff Johns.

Batman/Wonder Woman: Truth goes on sale on April 29.
