Finally, Venom is stealing Spider-Man's original red-and-blue costume for his next outfit upgrade

41 years ago, Marvel's Venom made its debut by literally taking over Spider-Man's costume. Now it's coming full circle, as Venom is getting his own Spider-Man costume.

During a closed-door retailer-only panel just now at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2025, Marvel Comics' longtime senior VP of sales & marketing David Gabriel revealed that this fall's Venom #252 will see the long-jawed antihero get a new costume inspired by Spider-Man's original duds. This would mirror the debut of the black Spider-Man costume that would later be revealed to be the Venom symbiote in 1984's Amazing Spider-Man #252.

Marvel didn't specify which Venom would be getting this new costume, as there's currently several people running around as Venom - from those you know like Eddie Brock and Dylan Brock, but also Mary Jane Watson.

Venom #252 is expected to come out this December.
