Every villain has an origin story, no? Even ones who are as monstrous as The Hillbilly in Dead By Daylight have to come from somewhere. This is the basic idea behind Titan Comics' upcoming comic book series, Dead By Daylight: The Hillbilly.

According to a press release from the publisher, "Titan’s new comic series will explore the origins of one of Dead by Daylight's original killers, The Hillbilly, and follows a rookie cop uncovering the face of pure evil." (Why is it always rookie cops who get sent into these situations? I'm going to start calling this the Leon S. Kennedy Phenomenon.) The story is written by Derek Fridolfs with art by Dean Kotz and colors by Allison Hu. The cover of issue #1 was done by acclaimed World of Warcraft and Conan the Barbarian artist Alex Horley. Take a look at the trailer for the series below.

Speaking about The Hillbilly, Titan Comics editor Phoebe Hedges said, “Dead by Daylight is a rich tapestry of stories and this is something we've worked hard to reflect in the comic series. I'm so proud of what the team have created, and can safely say you'll never know what to predict with a new Dead by Daylight comic."

So when will issue 1 of this new series be hitting comic book shops? Titan Comics says April 2026, so keep your eyes peeled the closer we get to then for a more exact release date.
