Star Wars' mysterious Knights of Ren have a new female leader. Meet Tava Ren

Kylo Ren is vying for control of the Knights of Ren with a new Star Wars big bad named Tava Ren

One of the biggest unanswered questions of the Star Wars sequel trilogy is the mysterious Knights of Ren. Only glimpsed in the three movies, they've been touched on sparingly in the comics and prose novels - but now Lucasfilm is adding a new member: Tava Ren.

Announced during the Disney Publishing panel at Star Wars Celebration 2025 where we are live, Tava Ren is a new Star Wars character scheduled to make her debut in this fall's Star Wars: Legacy of Vader #8, the ongoing Marvel Comics series by SW architect Charles Soule and various artists. The series itself is set between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker, and according to Lucasfilm Tava Ren will be stepping up as "a brand new female leader of the Knights of Ren who will face off with Kylo Ren."

The above concept art is by one of the series' artists, Stefano Raffaele.

Star Wars: Legacy of Vader launched in late 2024, with issues being released monthly. At its current pace, we would expect Star Wars: Legacy of Vader #8 to be available this September.
