SDCC: Psylocke to headline solo title from Marvel in November 2024

Written by Alyssa Wong with art by Vincenzo Carratù, the series stars the second mutant to take up the Psylocke mantle. (Sorry, Betsy Braddock fans!)

Though there are plenty of heroes among the X-Men ranks (and a few objectively villainous characters, too), there are almost as many characters whose morality falls into, well, a sort of gray area. Soon, one of those characters is getting the chance to shine, as Hand assassin-turned-X-Man Psylocke (AKA Kwannon) will headline her own solo comic at Marvel.

This info comes from the X-Men: From the Ashes panel at San Diego Comic Con 2024, where we learned about the new series as well as its creative team. Writing the issues will be Alyssa Wong, and drawing them will be Vincenzo Carratù.

Along with this info, Marvel provided an official synopsis for the upcoming solo X-Men title, which reads as follows:

"SHE WAS MADE FOR VIOLENCE! Trained to be an assassin since birth, Kwannon chose to be an X-Man. But there are still some jobs too dirty for the X-Men. And some paths have to be walked alone. When the mission is brutal, Psylocke unsheathes her blades to punish those who prey on mutants. Exploding out of the pages of X-MEN, Alyssa Wong and Vincenzo Carratù take Psylocke into the underbelly of the Marvel Universe, carving out her own place in a world that would rather see her under control!"

Notably, Psylocke is the first comic announced at SDCC aaht wasn't just a part of the From the Ashes relaunch, but an actual spinoff of a title under that umbrella - the Jed MacKay/Ryan Stegman X-Men book. So if you want to get a jump start on some of the moral quandries Psylocke might be facing down once it's her time in the spotlight, go ahead and follow along with that comic.

Or, if you'd rather just jump straight into Psylocke's adventures, you can wait until November 2024, when the title will hit comic shops across the world.
