Iron Man may be Invincible, but the creators behind his monthly adventures over at Marvel Comics are not. Case in point - we just recently heard that perhaps the most important person in terms of keeping Tony Stark busy on his comic book pages is taking a break from doing just that, due to an unspecified injury. That person, as you might know if you've been keeping up with the Golden Avenger, is current series artist Carmen Carnero.

Carnero, who has been pencilling the current Iron Man interiors since January of this year and has been a Marvel 'exclusive' artist since 2018, explained as much after answering a fan question on her social media. What was the deal, the fan wanted to know, with Carnero's name disappearing from advertisements for upcoming issues.

"Since many people are asking the same thing: an injury I suffered while doing #4 & #5 messed up my plans to do a bunch of issues in a row," wrote the artist, without specifying what the injury was or how it was sustained. But what's really important is that, already, Carnero feels she's on the mend.

"I’ll be back as soon as #8!" she concluded.

Well in the meantime, all of us here at Popverse wish you a speedy recovery, Carmen. And we hope whatever it is, arc reactors were not at all involved.

Carnero completed portions of April's Iron Man #4 and May 13's Iron Man #5 before the injury, with Jan Bazaldua stepping in at the last minute to finish off the issues, with Juann Cabal coming in for Iron Man #6 and Von Randal for Iron Man #7.
