The announcements out of New York Comic Con 2025 are coming fast and furious. During the Marvel Comics: X-Men panel, we got plenty of news about the future of our favorite mutant heroes. Speaking of the future, Cable is back with a new comic book titled Inglorious X-Force – and he’s bringing Boom-Boom with him for a new trip into the past.

Written by Tim Seeley with art by Michael Sta. Maria, this new ongoing series sees Cable returning from the future on a mission, but he’s got huge holes in his memory. There is an assassination attempt coming, and Cable is assembling a team that includes Hellverine, Archangel, and Boom-Boom. This new X-Force team attacks the mystery of exactly what Cable’s mission is in the past and why he can’t actually remember important details. Just what are those gaping holes in Cable’s memory hiding – and does he actually want to remember?

The first issue cover below is drawn by R.B. Silva with a variant cover by Francesco Manna. Inglorious X-Force is just one of several new series that were announced during the Marvel Comics: X-Men panel at New York Comic Con. You can find the full rundown of what got announced in our liveblog of the event... and if you're looking for some more Marvel mayhem from NYCC, don't forget that Whatnot is offering a Year in Marvel '25 pack both at the show and online during the convention.

Inglorious X-Force #1 hits shelves in January 2026.
