After the end of the Ultimate Universe, Marvel Comics promises Armageddon in Summer 2026

The event storyline created by writer Chip Zdarsky will "mpact the entire Marvel Universe, changing the face of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes," per Marvel Comics

Marvel Comics is promising that summer 2026 is going to be apocalyptic — well, specifically, it’s promising that Armageddon is coming in June.

That parsing is important: per Marvel, Armageddon “will impact the entire Marvel Universe, changing the face of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in a way not seen since Avengers: Disassembled, the event that redefined the team for the 21st century.” The statement came accompanying promotional artwork from Captain America writer Chip Zdarsky, which you can see below. Zdarsky is credited as creating the upcoming event storyline.

Marvel added, “Groundwork for the event will be laid in upcoming storylines in Zdarsky and Valerio Schiti’s Captain America as well as recent developments in the Ultimate Universe, specifically Miles Morales returning home with Origin Boxes in Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #5.” (We told you that comic would end up being important.)

Armageddon’s June arrival is also just a couple of months after the end of the Ultimate Universe, meaning that any fallout from that event could impact whatever Armageddon actually ends up being.
