Every neighborhood, no matter how innocent seeming, has its secrets. Secrets that could tear lives apart if they aren’t uncovered. So, when a body shows up in a tunnel connecting two communities, it sets the stage for an intense mystery. Neighborhood Watch, a new comic book series from BOOM! Studios, explores the question of just how well you know your neighbors.

Sarah Gailey (Know Your Station, Eat the Rich) and artist Haining (Absolute Flash) are teaming up for a new series about the fragile nature of community. Neighborhood Watch #1 is out in Spring 2026. Haining draws the main cover, while variants from Suspiria Vilchez (Buffy the Last Vampire Slayer), Jenny Frison (Alice Forever After), and Tula Lotay (Barnstormers). BOOM! Studios describes the new series as:
“Jill Hewett, community leader and wife of a respected police officer, has turned up dead with a gunshot wound in a tunnel connecting the Will Harbor Gated Community with the neighboring Open Arms Collective. And now, the VP of the HOA and the Kitchen Steward of the Collective have stumbled upon her body at the exact same time – instantly casting blame across the already fragile divide. Forced into an uneasy alliance to uncover the truth, they’ll need to work together to unearth the secrets both communities hold to figure out who’s responsible for the crime – and what they could possibly gain from it.”
The central mystery here is who killed Jill – and what was she doing in that tunnel? To uncover the truth, our detectives will dig up the dirt on both communities. There is darkness just below the surface of even the most pleasant neighborhood, after all.
