Stanley 'Artgerm' Lau celebrates art, fandom, and fall all month with Arttrober 2024

The fan-favorite comic book cover artist has a month's worth of original artwork to share all through October and he's inviting others to get involved

October has become popular on social media as a month for artist to set themselves daily goals and share artwork based on pre-determined goals or prompts… and fan-favorite comic book cover artist Stanley 'Artgerm' Lau is taking that to the next level with Arttrober 2024 — a month of all-new daily artwork that fans will be able to buy for themselves, and even join in on the project with him.

Every day in October, Lau will be creating new work based on a list of prompts, while inviting fans and other artists to play along. This isn’t the first year he’s adopted such a plan, with Arttrober 2023 resulting in more than 6,000 Instagram posts participating. Each day, Lau will be sharing his own piece to his Instagram — which has over 760,000 followers — and his Facebook, with the hashtag #Arttrober2024, and encouraging other artists to do the same.

While this isn’t his first Arttrober, this will be the first year he has partnered with Nerd Crawler to list each original for auction; to coincide with the launch of Arttrober 2024, the online auction platform is opening up its marketplace to more artists to list and sell their work; those who choose to do so and participate in Arttrober 2024 will find their pieces automatically added to a dedicated Arttrober 2024 auction page.

“I’ve listed a few auctions on Nerd Crawler this year to test the platform, and I’ve been extremely happy with how things went,” Lau said in a statement about his new partnership. “I’m excited to work with Nerd Crawler to auction the originals of my Arttrober 2024 auctions, and I encourage other artists participating in Arttrober to list their originals for sale or auction on Nerd Crawler, too.”

“Nerd Crawler’s mission is to build the easiest, safest marketplace for artists and buyers to connect,” added founder of Nerd Crawler Chris Tung. “We’re thrilled to see that our escrow model, bidding technology, and lower transaction fees has allowed fans to buy directly from their favorite artists and that more of the earnings go back into the artist’s pockets. As followers of Arttrober back when it started, it’s a dream come true to partner with Stanley for this year’s event.”

Lau’s first Arttrober post is already live, with Frieren leading the charge — and there’s a month more of this to come.
