The Amazing Spider-Man #23 release date: When Marvel's next Death Spiral issue drops

Spider-Man, Venom, and Carnage (kinda) are caught up in a sinister web with a new and terrifying supervillain - here's when you can expect Joe Kelly & Ed McGuinness's Amazing Spider-Man #23

Spider-Man is the ultimate underdog: always getting just a whiff of his big goals and dreams, only it for it to be dashed - but he keeps trying, and takes the small wins when he can. Peter Parker is the modern-day Charlie Brown (with life as that football), and he is the central part of Marvel Comics - something that is no different in his current lead series, The Amazing Spider-Man.

Ben 10 co-creator (and longtime comics writer) Joe Kelly is charting this current Amazing Spider-Man run, pitting Spidey and his allies against a new superpowered serial killer called Torment. Which allies? Well, there's Eddie Brock, who's currently in charge of the Carnage symbiote, and Mary Jane Watson, who is currently... Venom? I know, I know, it's all a bit overwhelming, not least of which because of the pulse-pounding synopsis for the next issue.

"SHOCKED BY THE SINISTER SYMBIOTE!" reads Marvel's teaser, "CARNAGE. KNOWS. Which means SPIDEY and VENOM team up again to stop the serial killer-symbiote. But instead of EDDIE BROCK, Peter uncovers another bombshell beneath Venom's mask — MARY JANE WATSON! And that's just the first SHOCKING REVELATION of this issue! Carnage isn't the only problem...Peter and MJ are going to have to patch things up if they want a fighting chance to stop new hyper-lethal villain, TORMENT's killing spree."

The Amazing Spider-Man #23 goes on sale March 4, with new issues coming every two-to-three weeks.

Marvel's The Amazing Spider-Man release schedule

The Amazing Spider-Man is Marvel Comics' flagship book, and they are pushing it with twice-monthly releases so all of us can get our Spidey fix. Here's the upcoming schedule:

Marvel's The Amazing Spider-Man collected editions

The next TPB for this era of Amazing Spider-Man comics comes out March 4, 2026. Oh hey! That's the day that Amazing Spider-Man #23 comes out - a great if you, like J. Jonah Jameson, need a constant supply of pictures of Spider-Man. The next Amazing Spider-Man TPB is called Through The Gates Of Hell and collects The Amazing Spider-Man (2025) #6-10.

How many comics of Spider-Man are there?

The Amazing Spider-Man is the main Spider-Man comic, but its one of several currently going on a monthly basis such as Ultimate Spider-Man. But in this main The Amazing Spider-Man title, March 4's issue #23 counts as the 987th issue of this series. At this rate, Amazing Spider-Man #1000 should be coming at us around October 2026.

Who is the original Spider-Man in the comics?

The first Spider-Man ever created was - of course - Peter Parker in 1962's Amazing Fantasy #15 by Steve Ditko and Stan Lee. There have been other Spider-Men (and Spider-heroes) since, but Peter Parker retains the mantle as the Spider-Man and the most popular one, by a large margin.

Thanks to the Spider-Verse, Peter Parker isn't the first Spider-Man in the Marvel multiverse - if you can be liberal with the 'Man' part of it. In 2022's Edge of Spider-Verse #1, it was revealed that in an alternate universe there was a Spider-Dinosaur in the Mezozoic Era. His name is Pter Ptarker, and he is - of course - a Pteranodon. Thanks to a meteorite containing alien spiders, he switched bodies with a T-Rex and became.... the Amazing Spider-Rex.

Who is Peter Parker currently dating?

Peter Parker is currently dating a nurse named Shay Marken. Marken works at the villains rehab facilitty known as the Ravencroft Institute, and came to meet Peter Parker through Peter's ex Mary Jane Watson; it turns out she is the niece of a patient of Shay's. While as of yet she has no secret identity or ulterior motive, she has gone through the seeming superhero rite of passage in that already she hasdied and was brought back to life.

Marvel's most reliable superhero has proven he can do a whole lot more than just 'whatever a spider can.' Swing into Spidey's history with Popverse's...

Just watch out for that radioactive blood.
