DC is revamping Hawkman for the Absolute line this October - and other "heroes - or maybe anti-heroes" with him

Absolute Green Arrow is being joined by a fellow member of the Justice League as Hawkman flies into the Absolute universe this October

We already know that Absolute Green Arrow is less than a month away from his introduction in the upcoming Absolute Evil one shot coming from DC in October — but he won’t be the only classic DC hero getting reimagined in the issue, it’s been confirmed.

Following online speculation, DC confirmed during its presentation at Retailer Day at Rose City Comic Con 2025 that Absolute Hawkman will also be debuting in the Absolute Evil special, although no further information about the character was released. It’s worth noting, however, that DC director of special sales Greg Gustin described the issue as introducing “a couple of new Absolute heroes — or maybe anti-heroes,” so perhaps this new Hawkman isn’t going to be quite as much of the good guy as his regular DCU counterpart.

The upcoming Absolute Evil one-shot by Al Ewing ad artists Guiseppe Camuncoli and Stefano Nesi centers around the first meeting of the villains from the different ongoing Absolute titles to date — Absolute Batman, Absolute Wonder Woman, Absolute Superman, Absolute Green Lantern, and Absolute Flash — and already has one spin-off title announced: Absolute Green Arrow, by writer Pornsak Pichetshote and artist Rafael Alburquerque, to launch in the spring of 2026.

Does this mean Absolute Hawkman will also be getting his own series in the not-too-distant future? Keep watching Popverse for updates as and when they arrive.

Absolute Evil #1 will be released October 1.
