Prepare to meet the Absolute Bat-Family in DC's Absolute Batman, beginning with (a) Robin

Absolute Batman is a loner - but his family is coming sooner than you think.

Two opposite things can be true - look no further than DC's Batman, who is both the ultimate loner and the ultimate family man. So far in the hit series Absolute Batman by Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta, the Dark Knight has been pretty solitary besides Alfred and memories of childhood friends - but that is about to change because the Bat-Family is coming to DC's Absolute line.

"My favorite part of writing this book, is [Bruce's] relationship with his friends," Snyder says about Absolute Batman during the DC All In: What's Next panel recently at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2025. Snyder says that the Absolute Bruce Wayne grew up with lots of different characters, and even though they all went their separate ways he still has "friends."

"I have a vision of a new Bat-family idea," adds Snyder. "You'll see."

During an interview back in March on the Comic Watchers, Scott Snyder said that an Absolute Dick Grayson was imminent, and also brought up Barbara Gordon.

"You'll see Dick Grayson at some point this year. He's coming. It was an interesting set of choices because it was like, 'Is he a kid, or is he a grown-up?'" said Snyder. "Because if Barbara is a grown-up and he's a kid, is that too weird? Does that feel off? So what if he's a grown-up? Who would he be? And then that opened this whole door. You'll see some friendly Bat characters and some fiendish Bat characters, all coming soon."
