I never realized how much I wanted to see Star Wars' Thrawn in a shoujo-style manga until now

Lucasfilm is bringing Timothy Zahn's Thrawn novel to manga.

You can't keep a bad Thrawn down.

After being one of the shining stars of the Star Wars literary side, then unceremoniously culled when Disney took over the franchise, Thrawn came back anew - in Star Wars: Rebels, in a new origin story (as novels) from creator Timothy Zahn, and then in live action with Ahsoka. And now, he's returning again - in an amazing-looking shoujo-style manga.

Hong Kong manga-ka Man Tsang is adapting Timothy Zahn's Thrawn novel in manga form. It's being overseen by Disney Publishing Worldwide's Milan offices, with no official release date yet. What we do have though is some character designs. Take a look:

This is the second official comic adaptation of Zahn's Thrawn novel, following 2018's American-style comic adaptation from Marvel by writer Jody Houser and artist Luke Ross. It's not unusual for Star Wars to view manga and American-style comics separately, as it has done adaptations of the original movies in both styles as well.
