Artist's Alley Asks: What do you need to make it through a convention? Gene Ha, Cully Hamner, Jarrett Melendez, Rachael Stott, Soo Lee, and Tim Seeley reveal all

Popverse asks C2E2 creators what their must-haves are for each con appearance, and it's not always what you'd expect

It’s the question that everyone has wondered at some point or another, and now Popverse’s Ashley Victoria Robinson is asking it directly: what do comic book creators consider must-haves for convention appearances?

We’re not talking about the immediately obvious requirements, such as a table, a chair, and basic sustenance — well, okay, maybe we’re talking about that last one a little, as you’ll find out when you watch the video above — but instead, the real nitty gritty. What do creators need to make it through a convention? Ashley asked the Artist’s Alley Asks All-Stars of C2E2 2024 — that’s Gene Ha (Mae, Wonder Woman Historia), Cully Hamner (Blue Beetle, Black Lightning), Jarrett Melendez (Chef's Kiss, My Pokemon Baking Book), Rachael Stott (Doctor Who, X-Men), Soo Lee (Carmilla, Star Wars: Tales from the Death Star), and Tim Seeley (Local Man, Hack/Slash) — and got back some pretty great answers. (Cully, in particular, nails it.)

Take a look at the video above to uncover the secrets behind the convention circuit — and keep an eye on Popverse throughout C2E2 2024 — running until April 28 — for more from these talented individuals, offering more pearls of wisdom and glimpses behind the curtain from the Chicago event. After all, they’ve already talked Chicago favorites and preferred movies that have yet to hit theaters
