Crunchyroll confirms they'll be the streaming home of Dr. Stone: Science Future when it finally comes out

The future is a dangerous place, especially when humanity has been locked in stone for hundreds of years. Senku is ready to ensure that science becomes the principle that guides humanity into a better tomorrow as the fourth and final season of Dr. Stone is in development and will be coming to Crunchyroll when it finally happens.

We’ve known that the fourth season of Dr. Stone was coming since the third season ended back in December 2023, but Crunchyroll took some time out of their panel at Anime Expo 2024 to confirm that they would continue to stream the anime when it returns to the air. The final season, titled Dr. Stone: Science Future, still doesn’t have a release window just yet.

We also don’t have confirmation of how many episodes will be in Dr. Stone: Science Future. The first season of Dr. Stone ran across two consecutive cours in 2019, while season two only ran for one and consisted of just 11 episodes. Season three, titled Dr. Stone: New World, once again ran for half a year, though with a three-month gap in the middle.

Considering that the fourth season, Dr. Stone: Science Future, will need to wrap up the story and finally reveal what locked humanity in blocks of stone, we’re going to guess that it will probably have at least 22 episodes to make sure the ending doesn’t feel rushed.

Dr. Stone: Stone Future will stream on Crunchyroll when it finally does come out. If you want to catch up on the first three seasons of the hit anime, they’re already available to stream on Crunchyroll as we speak.

Here's our guide to every anime coming to Crunchyroll, Netflix and other streaming platforms during the Summer 2024 anime season.
