One of the most innovative horror series of the last several years is just getting started. Starting with 2018’s A Quiet Place and quickly followed up in 2021 with A Quiet Place: Part II, you’d expect the John Krasinski-developed series to be building up to the inevitable Part III, but it looks like plans have changed.
In a report on the next movie in the series, titled A Quiet Place: Day One, Entertainment Weekly dropped the small detail that A Quiet Place: Part III has been delayed. Originally meant to come out in 2025, it looks like fans will have to wait a bit longer to see how the next part of the story.

It isn’t all bad news, though. The prequel is due in theaters on June 28, 2024, and, as the name implies, A Quiet Place: Day One promises to show how the world reacted when the deadly aliens first arrived on the planet. It stars Black Panther’s Lupita Nyong’o and Stranger Things’ Joseph Quinn as two people struggling to survive in New York City as the world falls silent. Turning one of the loudest and most aggressive cities silent is a fascinating concept, so hopefully it will keep fans sated while they wait for A Quiet Place: Part III to get back into production.
The report didn’t specify any reason why the delay has happened, though, considering the timing, it is likely that A Quiet Place: Part III is another casualty of the multiple strikes that shut down Hollywood during the Summer of 2023.
